Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu ITINERARY
Day 1: Cusco to Salkantay Trek Start Point – Trek to Soraypampa
- Morning: Depart from Cusco in a private vehicle and drive to the trailhead near Mollepata town.
- Late Morning: Begin your trek, ascending through scenic landscapes towards Soraypampa Villages.
- Afternoon: Reach Soraypampa and set up camp to enjoy a delicious dinner and rest for the night.
Day 2: Soraypampa to Collpa – Trek to La Playa
- Morning: Start early and trek up to the Salkantay Pass (4,600 meters / 15,000 feet), taking in breathtaking views of Salkantay Mountain.
- Midday: Descend into the lush cloud forest and continue towards La Playa, passing through diverse ecosystems.
- Evening: Camp at La Playa or stay in a local lodge.
Day 3: La Playa to Aguas Calientes
- Morning: Trek through the cloud forest and descend into the Sacred Valley, reaching the town of Hydroelectric.
- Afternoon: Board a train from Hydroelectric to Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Machu Picchu.
- Evening: Check into your hotel in Aguas Calientes, enjoy dinner, and prepare for your visit to Machu Picchu.
Day 4: Machu Picchu – Return to Cusco
