After this brief stop, we will continue our journey to the archaeological site of Pisaq. Following a comprehensive tour of this Inca town, we will embark on a delightful downhill trek lasting approximately 2 hours. As we descend, we will visit Inca neighborhoods, impressive terraces, temples, and food storage areas from Inca times. Ultimately, we will arrive at the Pisac Market, where you will have time to relax and enjoy shopping for a variety of crafts, including ceramics, textiles, jewelry, and paintings.
Sacred Valley Trek: Exploration of Cusco’s Inca Archaeological Sites
Next, we will continue our tour through the essential archaeological sites of the Cusco City Tour. To start, we’ll visit the magnificent temple of the Incas, Sacsayhuamán, an iconic fortress built with large stones, whose transport and construction methods remain a mystery.
Following that, we’ll explore Qenqo, known as the Labyrinth, where the Incas performed mummifications before burial. Then, we’ll head to Pukapukara, a control point used by the Incas, and finally, we will conclude our tour at Tambomachay, where the Incas conducted purification ceremonies and rituals honoring water.
After a full day of exploration, we will return you to your hotel in Cusco.
