Ausangate 7 Lakes Hike Itinerary
Our journey starts at 4 AM. First, we will pick you up from your hotel for a 3-hour drive to Pacchanta. This village is located at 4,200 meters above sea level. The route passes through Tinke, where temperatures are cooler than in Cusco. Once in Pacchanta, you will enjoy a hot breakfast before starting the hike.
The hike lasts about 5 hours. During this time, you will walk past beautiful lakes such as Azulcocha, Otorongo, Pucacocha, Alqacocha, and Q’omercocha. Furthermore, you will see the snow-covered peaks of the Andes. Since the weather can change quickly, be prepared for varying conditions. Therefore, bring a hat and use sunblock to avoid sunburn and headaches.
The return hike to Pacchanta is easier and quicker. When you reach the trailhead, you will enjoy a delicious hot lunch. After lunch, we will then transport you back to Cusco.
